I am not good at starting new things. I’m impatient and I want things to be an immediate success. And then once they’re a success, I get antsy and move onto the next thing. This don’t seem like the healthiest way to be. I’m going to try to do things differently with this blog—I want to take my time and I want to enjoy where I’m at right now, rather than focusing on where I want things to be. Also, if you’re reading this right now, there’s a good chance you’re my mom. Hi mom!
Things To Make
Fall has me in the mood to get organized in the kitchen and start freezer cooking again. These calzones are one of my go-to recipes and they can be made smaller for a hand-held toddler dinner.
This Roasted Carrot Hummus is so bright and beautiful! Swap out the Madras curry powder for sweet and it’s perfect for school lunches.
Things To Read
I just finished reading Becoming Brilliant and it was really eye-opening. In a world where just any every fact we could ever need is just a Google search away, why are we still relying on rote memorization and standardized testing in schools? This book was a good reminder not to focus on what my daughter knows, but how she engages with the world around her.
